The aim of the project The Complete Works of Aristotle is to make the entire Aristotelian collection available to Portuguese readers, including the approximately fifty complete treatises (authentic, suspicious and spurious) that have survived until today, those texts that, in a fragmentary fashion, have been passed down through tradition, and seven apocryphal works that began to circulate much later on, in medieval times, under Aristotle's name.

By undertaking the translation of this whole collection, this project becomes the first, and, so far, the only one world-wide, to encompass the Aristotelian legacy in its entirety.
The project has been developed by the Centre of Philosophy of the University of Lisbon, in collaboration with other national institutes for scientific investigation, and is financed by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology.
It is being published by the  Imprensa Nacional – Casa da Moeda.

A full description of the project can be found at www.obrasdearistoteles.net , where, the following resources are also available: the plan of the edition; the publication schedule; brief biographical notes on the research team; the list of the participating institutions; a continuously updated data base with the whole fundamental bibliography both by and on Aristotle; and the complete texts of all the published volumes, which will be made available as and when they have been published in book form.
This last facility is, understandably, reserved for investigators, teachers, undergraduate and post-graduate students, exchange with other institutions, or any analogous situation which may be specifically recognised as such. Users must register and can do so by filling in the registration form on the site; all applications for access will be carefully considered.
Any suggestions, corrections and criticisms are welcome.
The team would specially appreciate any collaboration in completing the bibliography, in order to make it as comprehensive as possible.
